Earlier this summer Edco, in conjunction with the American Choral Directors Association, conducted a survey of ACDA members to learn more about their fundraising needs. Take a look at some of our findings below.
Choirs need to raise over $7,500 on average per year. That money is most commonly used to pay for things like:
- Travel for performances
- Music or repertoire
- Uniforms, risers, music folders, or other equipment
In order to raise that money choirs have an average of 3 fundraisers a year. The majority of choirs use two fundraising methods:
- Ticket sales to performances (66%)
- Product sales (64%)
In addition, about a quarter of choirs (27%) use online fundraising. Of those that fundraise online, 91% find it to be effective. Of choirs that don’t use online fundraising, 75% have an interest in using it in the future.
The big takeaway here is that some choirs are using online fundraising. The vast majority of choirs that fundraise online find that it works well and those that don’t use it are interested in it and learning more about it. That is exactly why the ACDA partnered with Edco. Edco is an intuitive, highly-effective, online fundraising platform, specifically designed for K-12 educators, parents, teams, and clubs. We, at Edco, are proud to be the official fundraising partner of the American Choral Directors Association.
