What if my program includes students from multiple schools?

What is Edco?
Edco is an NYC tech startup that aims to seamlessly connect K-12 schools with the resources they need in order to help students develop their skills and discover their passion.
We’ve spent hundreds of hours learning from teachers, students, and parents in order to develop an online fundraising toolkit that is the most successful way to raise money for school programs and activities. We’re easy and safe to use.
Is Edco a for profit business or a non-profit?
Edco is a for profit business. However, all donations on Edco are tax deductible due to our partnership with the Channel Education Foundation. Channel Education Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) organization that aims to bring more resources directly to the needs of K-12 schools and teachers. Our partnership enables school programs to quickly access funds and ensures that donations are used for their intended purposes. Additionally, Channel Education Foundation handles all the tax reporting, tracking, and documentation of donation activity for the school program.

I raised money on Edco! How do I receive the funds?
When logged in, click on your dashboard, then click ‘Request Funds’. If you don’t see the ‘Request Funds’ button, you are not the page admin and cannot request a disbursement of funds. Note that Edco only disburses funds directly to schools and verified non-profit organizations. There are three ways that you can receive funds raised through Edco:
ACH (electronic deposit) to a school or verified 501(c)3 bank account. This typically takes 2-3 business days.
A check sent via mail made out to a school or verified 501(c)3). This typically takes 2-3 business days + time it takes for the check to arrive via mail.
A prepaid card. This option is only available to our partners’ members. Edco tracks all spending on prepaid cards to ensure they are being used in accordance with fundraising goals. The card takes 10 to 15 business days to arrive in the mail. Once you have the card, notify us and we can activate it and load/reload it instantaneously from the pool of funds you’ve raised.
